The Effects of Baby Massage on Attachment between Mother and their Infants

Even though I have been teaching Baby Massage to parents and carers for many years and have seen the amazing positive changes in the bonding process this brings about, every now and again I like to reinforce my instinct with evidence and facts. Coming from a nursing background, I respect the important value that research can have on outcomes.

Here is some evidence-based research about the effects of attachment between mother & baby as a result of regular baby massage. I know that this research is focused on mothers, but having taught men-only baby massage classes, I feel that the results may well be similar for fathers.

The final outcome found that : The results of the study have shown that baby massage is effective in increasing the mother / infant attachment.
